The Philadelphia Eagles revenge tour ends sweetly as they earn their second Super Bowl title in overpowering fashion with a 40-22 victory in a Super Bowl LVII rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs.

It was a slow start for both teams to score, but it didn’t take long until the famous “Tush Push” by the Eagles, led by quarterback Jalen Hurts who opened the scoring in the first quarter. But we saw something that was never common for the Chiefs.

Despite forcing the first turnover of the game, the Chiefs offense couldn’t move forward at all and faced immediate pressure by the Eagles’ top defense, who were ranked the best all season long.

The Eagles took advantage and added three extra points thanks to a Jake Elliott’s 48-yard field goal to give the Eagles, 10-point lead. The Chiefs tried to light a spark and respond to the Eagles scoring drive.

But disaster struck for Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, as on a 3rd and 16, Mahomes tried to roll out to find a Chiefs receiver but instead threw a birthday present straight to Eagles rookie defensive back Cooper DeJean.

DeJean scored on the interception return as he celebrated his birthday in the Super Bowl with his first interception as a NFL player to give the Eagles a 17-point lead.

The catastrophe continued for the Chiefs, as Mahomes was then intercepted again, but this time by a diving Eagles linebacker Zack Baun that would help the Eagles set up for a potential scoring drive.

The Eagles cashed in on the second Mahomes interception. Hurts found wide receiver A.J. Brown for a 12-yard touchdown to extend the lead 24-0 going into halftime.

The second half showed the same story for the Chiefs as they were still completely dominated by the Eagles defense and couldn’t do anything at all to match the Eagles offense.

While the same dominating story continued for the Eagles as Hurts would connect a deep ball for wide receiver DeVonta Smith on a 46-yard touchdown to extend the lead to 34-0.

It was too little too late for the Chiefs, but they were able to finally get a score towards the end of the third quarter with Mahomes throwing a 24-yard strike to wide receiver Xavier Worthy to make it 34-6.

The Eagles mainly scored two field goals by Jake Elliott in the fourth quarter and Mahomes was able to connect for two touchdown passes late in the fourth.

As the time wound down, the Eagles celebrated early with the traditional gatorade dunk onto their head coach Nick Sirianni and the green and white confetti fell onto the field as tears of joy spread within Philadelphia and hearts broken in Kansas City.
